Elena has been a lifelong practitioner of yoga. She first stumbled upon the practice when her mom introduced it to her during childhood as a regulation tool and a way to “burn off some extra energy.” She has many fond memories of practicing alongside her mom, awestruck by how long her mom could hold a downward dog without her arms shaking. As Elena grew older, her yoga journey began to take on a life of its own. During college, she practiced daily, using yoga as cross-training while also running long distances and weightlifting. Through all the ups and downs of life, yoga has been a constant home Elena returns to—a steady support for her mind, body, and spirit through every season of turbulence. Around 2019, Elena began to deepen her meditation practice and eagerly read up on various breathwork techniques. In 2024, she formalized her yoga education by attending Down Under School of Yoga’s immersive teacher training in Peru. As a teacher, Elena balances creating moments of centeredness and tranquility with opening space for playfulness and joy. Outside of yoga, Elena earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, studying Special Education and Psychology. She currently works as a middle school Therapeutic Special Education Teacher, where she strives to build supportive and engaging environments for her students to express themselves. Elena is deeply passionate about the healing nature of yoga and is thrilled to share that passion with her community.
